Dr. Alisa Corser grew up in the small town of Clermont, Florida where she began trading barn chores for riding lessons at an early age. While in high school and college she spent her afternoons and weekends as a working student at a combined training barn in Ocala.

She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Florida, and remained in Gainesville to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she completed a one year internship at a The Piedmont Equine Practice in Virginia, a very well respected clinic that cared for many elite, Olympic calibre sport horses. Alisa’s special interests include sports medicine and lameness.

 

When time allows, Alisa can be found riding her spicy crossbred mare Posh. She is married to harness trainer/driver Gavin Smith, has one son Caleb, and a farm filled with English pointers, ginger cats, highland cows, and horses of all shapes and sizes.
